Josh Link, DVM

Dr. Link moved to Alaska in 2015 to attend Veterinary School at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He is a member of the first graduating class of veterinarians from the combined University of Alaska and Colorado State program in 2019. While in vet school Dr. Link got his first sprint sled dog which ultimately convinced him Alaska was the only place to live and work.

While at UAF, he also had the opportunity to work with reindeer, caribou and muskox at the Large Animal Research Station, and work with both sprint and distance sled dog teams.

Dr. Link is originally from Eastern Pennsylvania, and grew up working around livestock (diary cattle, sheep and goats) before moving to Alaska. In his free time Dr. Link enjoys skijoring and sled racing with his 15 sprint dogs from his home in Salcha, along with a deep passion for the Alaskan outdoors; backpacking, climbing, pack-rafting, hunting and fishing.
